The School of Architecture and Landscape at Kingston University invites you to the opening of its Summer Exhibition for 2016, showing the work of our Architecture and Landscape courses alongside those of the wider art and design courses in the faculty.
The work in the School has built upon the wider projects of the last few years and the longer traditions of the School, and reflects our commitment to a material, social, ethical and situated understanding of our constructed environment. Projects range in scale from landscapes, to cities, buildings and interiors, and focus on a social understanding of our environment and its inhabitation, addressing both past, our own time and the possibilities and dilemmas of the future.

Landscape courses at Kingston University are aimed at graduates and professionals from disciplines including architecture, spatial design and ecology who can bring their knowledge, expertise, inquiry and creativity to the expanding field of landscape architecture. If you are interested in working in this field where there is a great demand for trained professionals come along and find out more.
In addition, Unit 5 will be exhibiting their new Japanese ‘Red School’ inspired viewing tower looking over Richmond Park, containing an intimate room inside for informal meeting. It is dressed with zinc, hand split wooden shingles and charred timber, all crafted by Unit 5 students in collaboration with Terunobu Fujimori during his residency at Kingston in March 2016. The Pavilion reception takes place Saturday 4 June at 4.30pm, in the grounds of the Dorich House Museum, 67 Kingston Vale SW15 3RN.
